Our Self-Image

Some explanations regarding the Logo of the China-Zentrum:

• The Logo displays the name of the China-Zentrum e.V. in both German and Chinese. China remains the reality which defines the work of the center and which leads to encounter with today’s China.
• The Chinese characters are designed in the form of a traditional Chinese seal, with white characters on a red background. The color theme of the seal is reflected in the initial letter ‘C’ of the German name. 
• Three arrows point to the center and clearly suggest the outline of a cross.
• The implied cross and the center do not build a form that is closed in upon itself, but rather one side remains open to the greater surface of the lighter background, which signifies essential openness and accessibility. 
• The color of the letters and of the arrows is a simple gray, a color that harmonizes with every other color, but which also expresses a certain self-effacement, an allusion to the work of the China-Zentrum which generally takes place quietly in the background.
