Meetings of Chinese and German students have been taking place for more than 20 years now. The China-Zentrum, founded in 1989, has been instrumental in organizing these meetings. Once a year, these meetings offer Chinese and German students the opportunity for personal exchanges and a chance to discuss current cultural and societal topics.
The meetings include lectures, round table discussions and small group discussions as well as accompanying events.
Lectures by experts lay the groundwork for the year’s theme and for discussions.
While the scientific input is an important part of these encounters, it is the personal meetings and exchanges among the students that often prove most valuable. These meetings are meant to develop dialogue between Chinese and German students, but they also serve as a ‘stock exchange’ of information for China related work and research groups that serve students.
