
The China Center (China-Zentrum e.V.) has been in existence since 1988. Legally recognized as a non-profit organization, the China Center encourages encounters and exchange between cultures and religions in the West and in China.
Information and conscientization about religions in China, etc., by means of:
- Publication of the German language journal China heute (China today) and the English language e-journal Religions & Christianity in Today's China
- Annual seminar of the China Center on topics relevant to society
- Lectures and presentations
- Contacts with government bodies and with the media
Dialogue and promotion of the social and scientific cooperation with Chinese partners, particularly with a view to the Catholic Church in China and other things by means of:
- Visits by delegations
- Chinese-German student meetings
- European cooperation (among others, with the EECC)
Research into christianity in China and its history and well as the study of other religions within the Chinese cultural sphere (In cooperation with the Institute Monumenta Serica) etc. through:
- Publications
- The collection of books in the library of the Monumenta Serica Institute
- Exhibits
