Technical Details for our Contributing Authors

Your contributions to our Journal  China heute – Information on Religion and Christianity in the World of China are very welcome.

Please let us know in advance on which theme you would like to publish an article.

We cannot take any responsibility for manuscripts which are sent to us unsolicited. The editors retain the right to shorten articles as well as to make orthographic and stylistic corrections to any text submitted. 

We use the new German orthography rules (Version of Aug. 1, 2006).

Publication rights
The Author relinquishes to the China-Zentrum e.V the right to the first publication of his or her contribution in the journal China heute. Thereafter, the printing of the article by China heute is free, if not stated otherwise. Please state the reference and send a sample copy. 

From now on, individual contributions to China heute will also be published online on the website of the China-Zentrum e.V.

Complimentary offprints
Each Author will receive two complimentary offprints of his/her article.  

Text length of articles

Contributions under the heading ‘Information’ ½ - 2 pages (or by prior agreement)
Contributions under the heading ‘Topics’ 3 - 10 pages
Contributions under the heading ‘Historical Notes’ 3 - 5 pages

Note: Please do not format Tables, Illustrations or Graphics into the text. Instead, please send them in a separate file.

Format

In order to enable the Editors to work with your text more easily, we would ask that you kindly adhere to the following formatting indications.

  Paragraphes no indentation, no following blank line, no automatic paragraph arrangement,
  Quotations Quotations within the text are to be set off by standard quotation marks;
  Footnotes at page end, continuous automatic numbering with Arabic numerals; please indicate footnotes after the word concerned, or when necessary at the end of the sentence.
     

Bibliographic information

At the first appearance of a title in your text, please give the complete information as shown in the following examples. At the second and following mention, it is sufficient to give the Author’s name, together with the year and page number:

Display / formatting
No underlining.  Book and periodical titles as well as foreign language expressions should be typed in italics, newspaper articles and dissertation titles are to be placed in quotation marks.
